What it is

The Espec Platinum series is a line of large-volume temperature and temperature-humidity chambers for cycling and humidity testing of large assemblies and completed products. Four workspace sizes, 42, 48, 60, and 112 cu ft, reach −70 to +180 °C with temperature change rates up to about 15 °C/min and optional 10 to 95% RH humidity. Each size is offered in four model families (temperature-only or temperature-and-humidity, at a −70 °C or −35 °C low end) and several refrigeration tiers, so the chamber is configured to the workspace, range, and ramp rate a program needs. All models run from the Espec P-300 touch-screen controller.

The Platinum series covers large-volume environmental testing:

Sizes and model families

Each family is available in refrigeration tiers — 6NAL air-cooled, and 6NWL, 12NWL, 15NWL, 15NW, and 30NW water-cooled — that set the change rate and cooling capacity.

Key features

Standard fittings. Stainless-steel interior, a heated window with LED lighting, a 100 mm (4 in) cable port on the left, a specimen-power interlock relay, and on the 42 to 60 cu ft sizes shelf pilasters with one shelf and a nonmetallic doorframe thermal break.

Product-temperature control. The P-300 console supports feedback control from a product sensor, with a temperature-boost feature for faster transitions.

Controller

The exclusive Espec P-300 touch-screen programmer and controller runs from a console with a USB port and product-temperature control, and supports remote access via web browser or API.

Configuring and ordering

Choose the size (42, 48, 60, or 112 cu ft), the family (ENZ, ENU, ENX, or ENL) for range and humidity, and the refrigeration tier for change rate and cooling. Note that exterior dimensions depend on the tier, and that the water-cooled tiers require a facility cooling-water supply of 53 to 121 LPM (14 to 32 GPM) at a 30 °C inlet. Only the 6NAL tier is air-cooled.
