What it is

Espec stability walk-in chambers are custom environmental rooms optimized for steady-state stability and shelf-life testing of large product batches. This configuration covers +10 °C to +85 °C with 30 to 95% RH humidity control, using the Stability MAP conditioning system, which pairs smaller fans and minimal refrigeration tuned for holding conditions accurately over long periods rather than fast cycling. Espec engineers each room to the batch size and available space, so a stability program can condition many units at once in one walk-in.

  • Temperature range +10 to +85 °C (Stability MAP)
  • Humidity range 30 to 95% RH
  • Stability MAP conditioning — two smaller fans, minimal refrigeration for steady-state work
  • Air-cooled, single-phase or three-phase (208/230 V), with built-in air-cooled heat rejection
  • No facility cooling water required
  • Panelized or solid construction; custom interior sizes
  • Standard panelized models from 279 to 1,245 cu ft
  • P-300 touch-screen controller with USB and event relays
  • Optional low-humidity range

What it is used for

Stability walk-ins are built for long-duration, steady-state conditioning:

  • Stability and shelf-life testing — holding controlled temperature and humidity over long periods for stability programs
  • Batch conditioning — testing many units at once in one room
  • Steady-state environmental testing — light-duty, constant-condition work where fast cycling is not required
  • Controlled-humidity storage — maintaining a set temperature and humidity for product qualification

How it is built

Stability MAP conditioning. The Stability MAP uses two smaller blower fans and minimal refrigeration tuned for steady-state accuracy and efficiency, with built-in air-cooled heat rejection, so no facility cooling water is required.

Panelized or solid construction. Panelized construction uses interlocking 4 in (100 mm) urethane-foam panels with a stainless-steel interior and coated-steel exterior, assembled on site; solid construction is available where needed.

P-300 control. Espec's P-300 touch-screen controller with three levels of overheat protection, a running-time meter, an audible alarm, USB profile and data transfer, event relays, and a specimen-power interlock relay.

Floors. Standard insulated floor to 600 psf, with medium-duty and heavy-duty upgrades.

Why engineers pick it

Tuned for steady-state accuracy. The Stability MAP is designed to hold temperature and humidity over long stability runs rather than to cycle quickly.

Efficient, plumbing-free conditioning. Built-in air-cooled heat rejection means no facility cooling water for the stability configuration.

Batch capacity in one room. Custom interior sizes condition many units at once.

Configured to the program. Range, size, humidity, and floor are engineered to the stability protocol and lab space.

Configuring and ordering

Interior sizes are customizable; standard panelized models run from EPB279 (279 cu ft) to EPB1245 (1,245 cu ft) in 9 ft or 10 ft interior heights, listed in the Specifications tab. Options include additional windows, 2 in / 4 in / 6 in cable ports, an optional extended low-humidity range, air-flow distribution, product-temperature control, chart and paperless recorders, an emergency-stop system, loading ramps, and installation matting.

Because every stability walk-in is a custom system, the Specifications tab shows general reference data. Tell us your batch size, target temperature and humidity, and available space, and W5 Engineering will design and quote a complete system with you.
