Digital Triaxial Accelerometer and Temperature Sensor
Model: 883M
Wilcoxon's premier digital accelerometer, the 883M, is an industrial sensor that measures vibration in three axes and temperature. This groundbreaking sensor's Modbus output enables data sharing with local and plant data systems, including PLCs, DCSs, SCADAs, and HMI displays. The 883M empowers operators with digital data for condition monitoring, process monitoring, IoT edge processing, and data science activities.
Key features and benefits
- Simultaneous measurement of vibration in three axes and temperature, aiding in machine fault diagnosis
- Digital output of vibration spectrum, time waveforms, and 12 calculated vibration metrics for each axis
- Modbus RTU communication protocol via an RS-485 serial bus for stable data transmission
- High-frequency response up to 5 kHz, delivering accurate and high-resolution measurements
- IP67-rated design, ensuring durability and reliability in industrial environments
In addition to vibration spectrum and time waveforms, the 883M calculates 12 vibration metrics per axis. These vibration metrics are based on frequency bands that align with ISO 10816-3 and ISO 20816-3 international standards for machine vibration measurement to simplify monitoring and trending.
Very accurate, high resolution measurements are possible due to the sensor’s mechanical design, which eliminates resonance instead of filtering it out. Damping eliminates excessive processing, which can remove relevant vibration content.
